Schadenfreude of the Day

Gabriel Nathan Schwartz is a 29-year-old attorney from Denver. He was a delegate at the Republican National Convention. Here’s an interview of him from the big event.

Schwartz was not shy about seeking out press attention. In addition to the interview above, he told an AP reporter that:

“This guy has more experience in his little pinkie from speaking in the Senate than Obama will ever have. It was a much better speech for what it said and the way he delivered it honestly than some smooth speech from someone who can’t deliver.”

The same night that Schwartz gave the interview shown above, he was hanging out in the bar at his luxury hotel, Hotel Ivy, in downtown Minneapolis when a woman started hitting on him.

The smooth-talking Schwartz convinced the lady to head up to his room between 4:22 and 5:46 in the morning. She told him to get undressed while she made him a drink.

Now here’s where it gets good.

Schwartz remembers nothing after that. He woke up later to discover cash, jewelry, his wallet and cell phone all missing. According to the police report, Schwartz claimed she took over $120,000 in cash and prizes.

Schadenfreude of the Day

Jake “the Snake” Roberts used to be a good wrestler. He popularized the DDT, one of the greatest finishing moves of my youth. And he routinely would put his 6 foot pet python, Damian, on top of his unconscious opponents. Here’s video of some of his career highlights:

Over the weekend in Ohio, the state that could determine the fate of the nation in October, Jake made an appearance that did not go so well. According to this article, before the match:

the 53-year-old legend was found passed out backstage moments before he was scheduled to perform. We’re told when Snake was woken up, he was aggressive, violent and asking for “an 8-ball.”

Here is what followed (some profanity):

The video does not show the part where Jake the Snake flashed his snake to the crowd.
