People Are Idiots

As many of you know, I sell ticket stubs on eBay. Since I always save my tickets, I’m not going to be able to cash in on my ticket from last night’s no-hitter. And unfortunately, I was unable to find any tickets on the ground when leaving the stadium last night.

Other people are not as committed to their stubs, and their stubs are getting bids as high as $80. That’s not too surprising.

What is absolutely stunning is that people are spending almost $20 for an eticket. When people buy their tickets through tickets.com, they had a choice of Will Call or getting a ticket emailed to them. (Smart people like me avoided the fees by waiting until getting to the stadium to buy tickets). The people who got them emailed to them can forward the link to anyone – there is an infinite supply of etickets.

Yet people are actually willing to buy them. And those people’s votes count as much as yours and mine.

I’m Now a Ticket Stub Buyer

Many of you know that I sell ticket stubs on eBay. Well, recently I joined the ranks of ticket stub buyers.

I hate etickets. I think they should be banned.

When I went to the 2003 NLCS games in Florida, I had etickets because that was the only format they were available in to those who bought them online. Today, I received this ticket in the mail.

Now I just need tickets from Games 4 and 5 of that series.
