Site Note II

So, my apartment hasn’t been rented for October, which gives me a little more time to move, which is nice. I still won’t have internet starting Wednesday though.

That’s particularly nice since I don’t want to have to move tomorrow night since the White Sox beat the Tigers today, forcing a one game playoff against the Twins tomorrow that I will be attending. I have not yet decided whether to wear a Cubs hat. I suspect that I will.

A large part of me is hoping for a Cubs/White Sox World Series, but only because it would make tickets accessible for every game. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way the White Sox will make it that far. Still, tomorrow will be fun either way. I’d be fine seeing the Sox win, but my four years of school in Minnesota carved out a little spot in my heart for Minnesota sports teams.

The Cubs Have Screwed Me

Earlier, I mentioned that I bought NLCS tickets in Los Angeles in case the Cubs played the Dodgers in the second round of the playoffs.

In order for that to happen, the Mets had to beat the Brewers for the Wild Card. The Mets and Brewers entered the weekend tied with the Brewers, who were playing the Cubs. Despite the fact that the Cubs were hoping to play the Mets in the first round (because it would be like batting practice), but they apparently not enough to actually go out and beat the Brewers.

So the Brewers won the Wild Card, which means the Cubs will play the Dodgers in the first round, which means I will have to watch Game 3 (and Game 4 if it’s needed) on television. Not cool.

It also means that, as of now, I have no tickets for the road games in the NLCS. Anyone with connections to Brewers or Phillies tickets are strongly encouraged to email me.

Cubs Players are Funny

The first three players are, from left to right, Mark DeRosa, Ryan Theriot and Ryan Dempster. Geovany Soto is the guy on the couch and the last player to appear is Mike Fontenot.

Schadenfreude of the Day

Omar Bakri Muhammad is not a good person. He has praised Osama bin Laden, called for the eradication of Israel and has repeatedly called for terrorist attacks.

One of his daughter’s is a pole dancer.
