Little Progress on Operation Stop Being a Fat Fuck

Starting weight: 224
Last week’s weight: 222
Target weight (maximum): 205
Target weight (ideal): 195

I ate better this week. I did go to Borinquen which probably wasn’t all that healthy. When I went to the Cubs@White Sox game on Friday, they were handing out M&M Ice Cream bars at the train station and I only ate half of mine. Other than that, I don’t think I ate anything excessive this week. Well, other than pizza on Tuesday and Wednesday. Jesus, I forgot about that.

As for exercise, since last Monday, I only ran twice. I really need to do better on that one especially since I’m running in a 10K in less than two weeks.

This week’s weight: 220

Change from last week: Lost two pounds.

That’s not good enough.

Still a fat fuck.

White Sox Fans Have It Easy

When I want to go to a Cubs game that I don’t already have tickets to, I have four choices: spend well over face price, stand outside the stadium and try to get tickets for face, line up early in the morning to get standing room tickets, or buy as many single tickets as I need for $10 each and then find seats together. I almost always choose the last option and I even admit I have a good deal of fun bargaining with people, especially the dumbasses who choose to keep their ticket they don’t need rather than selling it for $10.

But sometimes I am jealous of White Sox fans. The team is in first place, has the best pitching staff in the American League, and there are still plenty of tickets available for less than face price. I’m going to the game on Wednesday and I just won this auction on eBay. Two tickets with a face value of $50 that I won for $17.21 total. The downside is that I won’t be watching the Cubs. But with CC Sabathia pitching for the Indians, I’m pretty confident I’ll get to see the Sox lose.

Fred Stars In Gay Pride Parade

The long-awaited gay pride parade hit my neighborhood yesterday and my gay dog and I went to check it out. The parade moved incredible slowly so rather that stand and watch it, Phred and I walked along the parade route. He is always a popular dog, but that reached new heights yesterday as multiple stopped me so they could take his picture. Perhaps he should wear his felt boa every day.

Unfortunately, it started raining after we’d only been out there for an hour, so that cut our day short. We both look forward to a longer time at the parade next year. By then I will have a PFLAG shirt so I can better support my dog.

Borinquen, How I Missed You

Last night, I hopped on my bike and headed to Humboldt Park to go to a friend’s house. When I realized before I left that I hadn’t really eaten dinner, I got excited. For the first time in too many months, I was going to stop at Borinquen and get myself a delicious jibarito. A jibarito is a sandwich that uses “bread” made out plantain. Basically, they take some plantain, mash it up, shape it into long oval pieces, deep fry them, and then make a sandwich. I got lechon, pork, as I always do. While perhaps not good for my diet, it was definitely good for my soul.
